“The subject, Inclusive Marketing is of great relevance to any economy which has to maintain a uniformity in its growth, which is characterized by development at all levels of the society.”Inclusive Marketing” will require identifying key stakeholders and developing a vision ensuring better tomorrow for the masses through capacity building,” is what Ms. Rama Bijapurkar, Market Strategy Consultant had to say.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Pradeep Kashyap, CEO, MART & Chief Mentor of the Summit said, “Inclusive Marketing looks at poor as both producer and consumer. In India there are 650 million people who survive on the income which is less than US$ 1 per day. Comprising 30% of India’s market, this section of the population is viewed as a bin for obsolete products. And here comes the responsibility of the corporate sector who look at this section as a potential rural market. Appreciting the initiatives taken by ITC e-chaupal and project SHAKTEE, he emphasized that rural marketing should try to include poor in the pre market system and work towards getting this 650 million people out of poverty.
Working as an advisor for rural development for the last 20 years, he added that Rural Marketing so far is not a sustainable model since it depends largely on funding. Hence steps need to be taken to increase the scale of production and generate profitability.”
