United Breweries Ltd has informed BSE that in the limited review report of the Company for the quarter ended December 31, 2007, the Auditors of the Company have made the following observations :

“Provision has not been made in the accounts for possible loss arising on account of diminution in the value of long term investments in joint venture (having a carrying value of Rs 58.95 crores) which the management has considered temporary in nature, having possible impact on the financial results for the period, the extent of which cannot be currently ascertained.”
