Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd (GE Shipping) has announced the following results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2008:

The Un-audited results for the Quarter ended March 31, 2008

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 2994.10 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 2409.20 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. Total Income has increased from Rs 5926.70 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 7833.80 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

The Audited results for the Year ended March 31, 2008

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 13568.10 million for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 8833.10 million for the year ended March 31, 2007. Total Income has increased from Rs 22511.10 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 32035.10 million for the year ended March 31, 2008.

The Group has posted a net profit of Rs 14533.50 million for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 9124.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2007. Total Income has increased from Rs 24177.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 37628.20 million for the year ended March 31, 2008.
