Rain Commodities - Updates

Rain Commodities Ltd has informed BSE about the following:

“The Company and its wholly owned subsidiaries are involved in the business of producing Cement and Calcined Petroleum Coke. The Outlook reflects the strong demand that both these products, viz. Cement and Calcined Petroleum Coke, are experiencing in the key end markets i.e. infrastructure, housing and aluminium. The positive momentum in these end markets is expected to continue in 2008 and beyond.

The cement expansion project currently underway at Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh with a capacity of 1.5 Million tons per annum is expected to commence operations in May 2008. Consequently the total cement capacity of the Company will be 3.16 million tons per annum.

The Company is the world’s largest producer of Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) with a capacity of 2.44 million tons per annum. Further the Company is proposing to expand its CPC capacity with green field projects in India and China that are likely to be completed in early 2010 to meet the growing demand for CPC in China, India, Middle East and South Africa.
