Hikal Ltd has informed BSE that the Company has commissioned a new state-of-the-art multi purpose plant at Taloja, Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra to manufacture Active Ingredients for Crop Protection products, which was inaugurated by Dr. Wolfgang Welter, Member of the Board of Management of Bayer CropScience AG, on June 30, 2008. The supplies will commence in the second half of the year.

Hikal has entered into a long term contract manufacturing agreement with Bayer CropScience AG, Germany, one of the world’s largest crop protection companies, for manufacture and supply of these products.

Bayer CropScience AG is a subsidiary of Bayer AG, Germany which is one of the world’s leading innovative crop science companies in the areas of crop protection, non-agricultural pest control, seeds and plant biotechnology.
