Reliance Energy – Change of Company’s name to “Reliance Infrastructure Ltd”
Reliance Energy Ltd has informed BSE that the name of the Company has been changed from “Reliance Energy Ltd” to “Reliance Infrastructure Ltd” with effect from April 28, 2008.
In this regard the Company has issued the following Media Release :
“Reliance Energy, on April 28, 2008 announced that the name of the Company has been changed to “Reliance Infrastructure Ltd” effective from April 28, 2008 . The Company has received the certificate from the Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra registering the aforesaid change in name.
Reliance Infrastructure has either directly or through subsidiaries or through investee Companies and on its own or in consortium, been engaged in a number of projects under implementation or under consideration in the field of not only power generation, transmission and distribution businesses but also in several other infrastructural projects such as highways, roads, bridges, metro rail and other mass rapid transit systems, airports, special economic zones, real estate, etc. Reliance Infrastructure has over a period of time significantly expanded its foot print across a wide range of infrastructural projects. Reliance Infrastructure would be continuously exploring the emerging opportunities in the infrastructure business in future.
The new name “Reliance Infrastructure Ltd” appropriately reflects the current nature of businesses. The new identity redefines the Company’s vision and focus to emerge as a premier infrastructure Company.
The new name reflects the branding philosophy followed by the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, where the name signifies the space in which it operates and creates a sharper brand presence among the stakeholders.
The name change will not affect any of the rights and obligations of the Company to its stakeholders.
