1. A degrowth of about 13% in the 100cc segment offset stable sales in the 125cc + segment, resulting in an overall degrowth of 10% for the motorcycle industry.
2. Aided by strong sales of the XCD, Discover, Avenger, and Pulsar, Baja continued to dominate the growing 125cc + premium motorcycle segment with a market share of approximately 50%.
3. Furthermore, motorcycle exports at 50,894 units have been the highest ever. Bajaj expects exports to continue to fuel Growth, thus mitigating the currently lackluster domestic market.
4. 3-wheeler sales continue to suffer from poor domestic demand; here too exports is expected to more than compensate.

5. Positive overall growth is expected for FY09 owing to the twin focus on bigger motorcycles and international markets.
